Any student in need of academic advisement will be given an appointment to speak with the academic advisor. Students at risk of failure are required to meet in person or through an online platform with faculty, program leadership or administration to ensure the student possesses the resources and support necessary to complete the program.
Students who demonstrate less than satisfactory grades or progress will be referred for tutoring services.
The institution’s financial services advisor is available during office hours to assist students with any questions they may have, as well as to assist with making changes to payment arrangements when necessary.
It is the policy of the institution to assist students in finding employment. Prior to and after graduation, the Student Services Department advises students on career development skills and assists them with finding employment in their chosen career field. Job placement is not guaranteed to any student. Career services are available to aid in the job search; however, we cannot guarantee any student or graduate a job.
Counseling is available to all students for career and academic reasons. Students with issues of a personal nature will be referred to local public or private agencies for professional assistance.
The school library houses additional learning resources for active students and graduates. Resources include two computers connected to the internet, additional textbooks, reference materials, as well as program appropriate subscriptions. The media center is open during normal business hours. In addition, the institution provides students with access to the Library Internet Resource Network (LIRN).
The institution does not maintain housing for students but provides information and resources about local apartments and rental opportunities for students interested in living near campus.
Student transcripts are permanently maintained at the institution and are available from the Student Services Office. One copy of the official academic transcript is provided to each student upon program completion and satisfaction of all financial obligations to the school. Students may request, in writing, additional copies of transcripts for a fee. A student may request a transcript in person or by mail. There is a charge of $15.00 for official transcripts. Transcript requests may take approximately five (5) to ten (10) business days to process. All academic and financial obligations must be met for transcript release. Without meeting those obligations, a hold may be placed on a student’s account.
Official academic records are maintained in the Student Services Office. Included are admission applications and associated documentation, registration forms for each semester, records of grades and credits received in courses at Riggs College or accepted from other institutions, and other documents directly related to the student’s academic progress and status.
